Strike Force Zadakiel The Shadow Guards Space Marine Chapter is a Dark Angels successor chapter, with a force organisation chart slightly different to that of the Codicium Angelus Tenebrae. This is the saga of the Second Company of the Shadow Guards Space Marine Chapter led by the indomitable Master Zadakiel. It focuses specifically "Strike Force Zadakiel" and their part on the events on Kraxus Prime which was a watershed event in the history of the chapter. |
Master Zadakiel Captain of the Second Company, Tactical Commander of Force Epsilon-Kraxus, Victor of Kraxus Tertius. Master Zadakiel helped plan the overall strategy with Chapter Master Gabriel Lioneart in the Kraxus campaign. He personally led the surgical strike in to the heart of enemy defences on the mountains of Kraxus tertius which resulted in its rapid re-capture as well as the capture of a fallen marine. He was intrumental in the induction of the chapter in to the unforgiven coven. Zadakiel refuses to wear better protection than his own troops hence leads them to battle in power armour. He is armed with a blessed power axe and prefers the firepower of a master-crafted plasma pistol. As Captain of the second company he is atleast a level three Shadow knight and it is rumoured that the Grand master of the Shadow Knights has cast his eyes on him as his probable successor! |

Veteran Sergeant Idazier Aide-de-camp to Captain Zadakiel, Command Squad Leader Second Company of the Shadow Guards Veteran sergeant Idazier has served in the Shadow Guards chapter with distinction for as long as master Zadakiel. It is said that they are not only comrades-in-arms but also close friends from before their induction in to the chapter. Like his commander he wears power armour, and wields a bolt pisto and a double headed thunderhammer which was retained as a gift of gratitude from a Space Wolf scout squad which owed their lives to the sergeants persistant attempts at rescue. He is undoubtedly a shodow knight but his level is unknown at this stage. |
Tyrannid assault on Kraxus prime, during which nearly the entire firstcompany was decimated. Being too far away to save the Master of the First Company from a gaggle of genestealers, Gabriels berserk fury brokethe genestealer charge. He is credited with having killed seventeen of those abominations in that battle in close combat. despite that, gabriel still feels he must pay penance for having failed in his duty to protect the Master of the First Company. He has watched over Zadakiel like a hawk, ever since that day. |
Barakiel was a relatively junior Interrogator-Chaplain, when he was attached to the second company. He accompanied Zadakiel on the famour Kraxus tertius Jump Assault deployment. He has gained fame for having captured the first fallen marine by the chapter, in that battle, although neither he, nor anyone else in the chapter realised what they had accomplished, until he arrival of the Dark Angel's fleet. Barakiel was inducted in to the Shadow Knights almost immediately after the organization was created. He is said to have been tutored by none other than Asmodai of the Dark Angels in the intricate art of interrogation. |
