Arriving at Gryael's side he removes his helmet. Gryael's eyes were glassy and had blankness within. "Durros" Gryael gurgled "Remember what I told you when I found you on your home world? Remember, I told you that even your brothers can betray you in this universe." Durros answered "Yes sir". Gryael spoke as he sat up "Durros, I have watched and groomed you for this very moment. HAIL! Brother Dark Angels, let it be know that from this day forward Sgt. Durros has been inducted into Chaplaincy as set forth by Interrogator Chaplain Gryael" Gryael bellows while choking on his own blood. "I give Durros those rights by handing down my badges of Chaplaincy. The Crozius Arcanum, which brings justices to those who stray from the light of the emperor; The Rosarius, which protects you through the faith in your emperor and the Lion. Durros, do you accept these badges and take the quest of a said Chaplain?"

"Aye Chaplain Gryael" breaths Durros. "Brother Dark Angels you are witness to Chaplain Durros quest and you will bare witness to Master Sheol of these events." demanded Gryael "Is that understood?"  "Aye, aye sir" the brothers at arms replied.

Witnesses were not necessary. Master Sheol was able to witness the makeshift ceremony himself. Sheol was able to speak with Gryael before his passing. The new Chaplain had many questions that would soon be answered by Master Sheol. Soon Durros would be back on 'The Rock' preparing for his new position. Along the way he would be inducted into the Deathwing and even the Inner Circle. Learning of the heroic deeds of his beloved Chapter as well as the treacherous fall of the past. The fallen angel he helped capture would be his first interrogation. Chaplain Durros learned many techniques on how to pull information from those who betrayed the Lion.

SANCTUM OF HEROES
CHAPLAIN DURROS
Dark Angels Chapter
By Michael Hogan
IChaplain Gryael and his two squads using bounding over-watch work there way up to the complex. A hatch was discovered while scanning the outer wall. Quickly Gryael and the two squads destroy the limited defenses, pressing deeper into the complex. Chaplain Gryael followed by the two squads moved quickly. A ladder well gave them access to proceed up two more floors. The open passageway was quickly checked and the all clear sign was given. Pointing down the passageway Gryael moved with the two squads on his heels. Rounding a corner they came upon bolter fire! The handful of marines fired while still pressing forward Bolts ricocheting off there plasteal armor.  Brother Ramiel's plasma gun incinerated one guard and the other fell to the massive volley of bolter fire. As they approached the next hatch they saw the access light turn from green to red.  Gryael requested a melta bomb to blow threw the hatch and ordered everyone to prepare for close quarters fighting. With a brilliant flash of blinding light the hatch was vaporized. With Dark Angels rushing forward throwing grenades, firing boltguns, all the while fanning out and finding hasty cover. Return fire was met as they charged into the room. Gryael was the first to find hand to hand combat. The melee lasted for only a single swing of his Crozius. Finishing off the heretic Chaplain Gryael saw his bounty.  Hidden behind some crates was a figure very similar to a Space Marine. All too similar for Gryael's eyes. With a yell Gryael lets out "For the Lion and the Emperor!!" All 16 marines of the squad charged forward. Small melees broke out across the room; Gryael heading for the leader in the back. Sgt. Durros saw the Chaplain in full sprint and tried to get to Gryael to help protect his flank. The duel started seconds before Sgt Durros could get to the Chaplains side. The battle between Gryael and the unknown foe was something Durros eyes had never witnessed. Chaplain Gryael was fighting the finest of the finest - he was fighting a Space Marine!! Sgt Durros realizes finally that the enemies are all Space Marines. With a bolt ricocheting off his greave he gets back to combat. Fighting through the marines wasn't a problem for Sgt Durros and his power fist. Smiting 6 heretics alone before being confronted by the last scum. This one looked like... like the marine Chaplain Gryael was fighting. With a quick glance he could see Chaplain Gryael on the floor moving every so slightly. The anger boiled in Durros's veins. He turned and looked at the filth that had wounded his commander and brother at

arms. Charging his power fist he steps forward to confront the bastard who betrayed the emperor. His opponent was strong, stronger than him which made no sense for Durros. The heretic's power sword caught his right shoulder pad and ripped it off. This gave Durros the opportunity he had been looking for. With a huge swing of his power fist he connected with the vile marine launching him back three meters. Durros ran up to the felled opponent straddled his limp body to grab the armored chest plate at the neck.  While the heretic lay unconscious Durros studied him.  Durros could see and feel the twisted hate that lived within this heretic. As he scanned more he came to the left shoulder pad. Dropping the heretic and standing up shocked to see what could not be. Sgt Durros could not believe his eyes for upon the twisted marines shoulder pad bore the faint image of a winged sword! "How can this be" Wondered Durros?

A whisper of a voice called out Sgt Durros's name. Turning, Sgt Durros command two of his squad to shackle the unconscious scum. As he strode over to Chaplain Gryael's side he saw for the first time what was left of the boarding party. Two marines stood guard while the remaining five marines shackled any survivors. He saw Sgt Daniel laying face down near two other heretical marines. Sgt Daniel was lost as well!
