Commander of the Household Turael Command Title: Grandmaster of the Household Honorific Title: Keeper of the Scripts Overview This is an entirely non-combatant arm of the chapter high command. As noted by its title, this is the section that deals with the mundane administrative side of managing an entire chapter of space marines. Complement Grandmaster of the Household Turael, Keeper of the Scripts Lexmechanics 18 Scribe-serfs 22 Servitor Scribes 29 Grandmaster Turael is a classic example of an ancient warrior who has survived the fields of battled for many centuries and in his infirm years continue to spend expend his energies in the line of duty. The monotonous task of the administratum is an essential cog in the wheel that maintains the functions of the chapter. Duties Virtually all the duties of this command are non-combatant, but related to combat in a myriad of ways. Their duty is essentially related to much chronicling as follows: Historical documentation The chronicling of the chapters history, battlefield accomplishment, details of each conflict small or large and contact with aliens and heretics. Much of this documentation is subsequently analyzed by the librarians of the chapter and stored within the vaults of the librarius. Maintenance of the Emperor's Law No one is above the emperor's law including the space marine chapters. The administratum maintains links with those on terra, submitting the required data and updates to keep them within the generality of the law. That the Dark Angels are viewed with some degree of suspicion by some within the administratum and the Inquisition is partly upheld by their gratuitous omission of certain details. Personal documentation Systematic chronicling of every battle brother's accomplishments, successes, failures and punishments is undertaken arduously. Awards and promotions within the chapters and their reasons are all detailed by this command. |
